Ann or Brendan will show you dunes areas that resemble Luke Skywalker’s home planet, Tatooine, where Obi-Wan Kenobi was hiding in Star Wars: A New Hope. Don’t forget your camera.

Soft sand, some steep hills and beach. Wear hiking boots or sneakers, drinking water, sunscreen and hats are advised.

All ages, though please note the walking distance.

Leashed dogs are allowed.

About Ann Wood

A former reporter and editor at the Provincetown Banner, Ann has won journalism awards on a variety of subjects, including environmental reporting, arts reporting and pictorial photography. A longtime Provincetown resident, she spends most of her time writing and roaming around Provincetown’s dunes, ponds, beaches and forests.

About Brendan Felix

Wellfleet native Brendan Felix has a passion for the outdoors, history and ecology. He holds a BS in geography and outdoor recreation and planning from Keene State College in New Hampshire. A data engineer who conducts Geographic Information Systems mapping with a corporation in Vermont, Brendan now works remotely from his Wellfleet home, and spends much of his time outdoors. He has also worked as a camp counselor and substitute teacher.
